“You kicked my wife,” 37-year-old Worthington can be heard saying in vision of the assault, seemingly confirming rumours that he and his 26-year-old girlfriend had tied the knot in secret.
If they are indeed married, it’s a whirlwind romance for a couple who only started to go public with their relationship last September after being introduced by mutual friend Natalie Imbruglia. Since then, they’ve regularly shared intimate snaps of one another on their respective Instagram accounts.
In recent months, Bingle has appeared topless in bed in a photo snapped by Worthington, while Worthington’s first post on the site was a picture of the pair together. There have also been numerous loved-up ‘couplie’ shots, including one snap that shows the pair cuddled up together bare-chested on a beach.
Despite such an active social media presence, Bingle and Worthington only made their red carpet debut as a couple at last month’s AACTA Awards in Sydney. The pair appeared cagey when interviewed by Sydney Confidential’s Jonathan Moran. When asked if Lara would be making a film debut of her own in the near future, the Avatar actor intervened, saying: “It depends, what are you talking about? You can’t ask her questions like that.” He then protectively swept her away.
Reports earlier this year suggested that the couple had secretly married in Western Australia ahead of a romantic trip to the Maldives. They have since been seen wearing matching rings on their wedding fingers.
Hmm. One thought: given their shared love of Instagram, surely the pair would’ve uploaded an Insta pic or two from the wedding if they’d gotten married?
If true, this is the first marriage for both Bingle and Worthington. Bingle was previously engaged to Australian cricketer Michael Clarke — their relationship ended in 2010.
