THEY’RE the controversial My Kitchen Rules couple dividing viewers with their ruthless approach, but there’s one thing the Captain and his “trophy wife” don’t want you to know.
It seems Corinne Wieland, who is happily dating 53-year-old David Kirk and continuously flaunts her love for the MKR baddie on national television, is already married — to another man named David.
Her heartbroken husband, David Wood, has spoken to Woman’s Day about his marriage breakdown, revealing: “She told me a week before our 10-year anniversary.
The shock revelation comes as the loved up couple bombed spectaculars in tonight’s show, drawing a measly 27 points and bottom of the leaderboard.
“I don’t know what she sees in him,” Wood told the magazine.
“He was our neighbour, a friend ... we had dinner parties together.”
Twice-married David says Corinne, 32, is the love of his life despite the 22-year age gap, and often refers to her as his “trophy wife” on the show.

Corinne and her hospital worker husband had only recently moved to Cairns when they met David and his fiancee Judy, and the two couples quickly struck up a friendship.
Wood admitted that he became suspicious because his wife has been spending a lot of time with the ex-navy officer.
“They both worked in finance so would have a lot of ‘lunches’ to discuss business and I knew that Corinne was impressed by him and his industry knowledge.”
A devastated Wood added that they had been to each other’s houses for dinner and said: “all this was going on behind my back.”

The Captain didn’t actually leave his 50-something fiancee Judy after news of the affair started to circulate in their close-knit coastal community in Bluewater Harbour, Trinity Park, according to Wood.
“Judy kind of turned a blind eye at first but eventually she had enough and walked out.
That’s the sad thing. Corinne wasn’t his plan A, Judy was. Corinne was his pan B. She was just his back-up.”
Devastated by his wife’s betrayal, Wood admitted he was hardly surprised when mutual friends broke the news that Corinne and her new man were planning to appear on MKR because “she used to beg me to go on with her ... I didn’t want to be on camera but she likes being the centre of attention.”
Wood has since asked Corinne for a divorce and is now happily in a new relationship but still can’t bring himself to watch the pair on the show.
The Queensland couple have drawn the ire of fans of the Seven ratings winner, often being branded as “nasty” and “bitchy” after some of their comments made about fellow contestants. They’ve laughed off the criticism, saying it all comes down to clever editing.
And the all-too confident pair made MKR history tonight, as they set out to do, but for all the wrong reasons.
Three sub-standard courses saw them take home an embarrassing 27/110 — the lowest score in the history of the cooking show, which premiered in 2010.
The couple were determined to redeem themselves after their ‘pasta disaster’ first round instant restaurant, but upon being seated guests described the menu at Quarterdeck as “something you’d get at an RSL. And unfortunately it tasted just as bland”.
An entree of corn soup with grilled tiger prawns and avocado missed the mark, with Manu describing it as “pretty much baby food.”
Their main of pork medallions with cauliflower puree, green beans and mushroom sauce was referred to by Manu as nothing more than “a smashed up piece of meat”, while Pete said the sauce was too think and drowned the mushrooms.

WA contestant Chloe couldn’t help herself, admitting “I think this is probably the worst dish I’ve had in the competition to date.” Ouch.
Even David and Corinne’s redemption dish, a chocolate cake with candied liquer oranges, couldn’t save them. While the stone-faced judges admitted they loved the presentation, the cake itself “just wasn’t a cake at all.”
“It’s not a creme caramel, it’s not a panna cotta, it’s not a mouse. It’s something else,” Manu critiqued.
Gate crasher Anna, who is quickly proving one of the harshest critics of all, slammed the dessert, saying: “If I was at home, I would have spat it in my napkin.”
Even ‘Handsome Harry’ couldn’t find a single nice thing to say. “There is nothing to be positive about this dish, I don’t even know what to say,” he admitted, before scoring the duo an abysmal one out of 10.
With only one pair left to cook, NSW mother and daughter Cathy and Anna, it looks like the Captain and Corinne might be walking the plank before they know it.
As for the man who stole his wife, Wood says while he’s no longer bitter about the betrayal, he does have one request. He wants his spoons back.
“ ... I saw them plating up their entrees with some spoons that look suspiciously like the ones I got from a friend for my birthday the day before Corinne broke up with me. I never even got a chance to use them!”
